North West Fashion Festival 14th September

What a lot of people will misconstrue when attending any event is the work and immense amount of creative processes that lead up to the production. It’s not just about hosting a social occasion in a hired out venue. It’s about delivering a movement that forms a fashion inspired network around the city. Designers are given the spotlight and opportunity to deliver their individuality on the catwalk, whilst models can grab the scouting attention. Opportunities are what the city needs, the guests can fuel this success purely through attendance and to talk talk talk about it.

There’s something remarkable that seems to happen when a new Chic Networking event arrives on to the fashion scene. Anticipation becomes rife as their social media pages tease us but we’re all not sure if we’ve yet recovered and gotten over the last show. We can all agree that when leaving a Chic Networking Event, we feel a lot more fashion savvy and a little bit tipsy.

The North West Fashion Festival is a step up from anything we’ve experienced yet before. It goes above and beyond just a fashion show, with masses of new ideas and surprises injected into it. Expect drama, fun and pampering followed by a good dose of socialising in the bars and restaurants. The Palm House is the perfect setting for the festival which will be surrounded by luxury marquees and the sound of our top DJ’s performing inside them.

The selection of designers has acquired a roar of approval on social media and in the press with looks and styles to suit everyone’s taste. Whether its Ben Maks exaggerated drama through his theatrical and highly impactful designs or KU Spendoves super sassy celebrity chic that grabs your attention. A whole spectrum of fashion will be showcasing in front of our wistful eyes. If you’re a male who’s debating whether to attend simply for the spectacle of models, or you’re being unwillingly dragged along by your girlfriend, then Ten Men Clothing with Sam Reece is an added incentive. I’m sure the girls won’t mind having a peak at the show either. They will be the first menswear brand to grace a Chic Networking stage, bringing you their Northern Culture inspired style in a range of tees, hoodies, hats and more.

Although the show is the blueprint for the whole notion, the amenities surrounding it are just as enticing. The NWFF brings you their first set of Masterclasse’s which will take place in one of the outside Marquees. This area will present a series of sessions aimed at people of all ages, to educate them on different subjects that the speaker specialises in. These topics range from celebrity make-up artists, hair stylists and skin care proffessional’s discussing different looks, tools and products.

The deluxe pamper marquee is also a new fancy addition which will be accessible to everyone. Arbonne have enabled this fabulous area to become possible, offering free beauty treatments to all guests. Prepare to get in line ladies, this marquee is going to be a hot stop.

If you’re looking for that little extra luxury and chance to mingle with celebs then the VIP Marquee is where to be. Exclusive access to this area requires a gold wristband which you will obtain if you chose to indulge when purchasing your ticket. Take a break from shopping the stalls to socialise whilst sipping champagne and routing through your free goody bag.

Now if you're thinking of going out Saturday night and then to the event on Sunday...don't. The fashion shows will have to come to an end but the party definitely won't as James Locke and Mark Stafford will be hosting at Kingdom for the official after party. So save your energy and join the celebs, models and designers for a special night DJ'd by Sammy Porter.

In order to enjoy and succeed in any event to the fullest, it is paramount for a chosen charity to benefit and receive awareness as well. The NWFF will be supporting the James Bulger charity which is close to the hearts of Liverpool and had a big impact on the UK. There will be a competition and many chances to donate so if you are not aware of the charity or foundations of the cause then please follow the link below for more information.

Farah Sattaur for Fuschia White

Some things are made to go together; champagne and strawberries, Tiffanys and New York, Vogue and coffee. The same could be said for the new online fashion boutique Fuschia White and Farah Sattaur, fabulous on their own but when they announced a collaboration together, the fashion world were ready for something amazing to happen.

Farah has incorporated glimpses of her own person style and cultural influences into the collection. “I’m so proud of the whole collection with every piece personally chosen, having clothing to cater for both day and evening. Keeping it sexy and classy with an edge”. With Farah’s effortlessly classy style, we are expecting an ultra-chic collection with an element of playful fun. She’s a woman with ambition; having already taken on the modelling world as a playboy bunny and tackling the reality TV screen in the cast of Ex on the Beach, she’s not shy from the public eye.

The launch of this collection will be whipped up at The North West Fashion Festival, with Farah modelling some of the clothes down the runway herself. Expect to see sleek scuba style combined with a feminine edge. Social Media has been frenzied with talk on the event, with guests coming from all over the UK to see the new collaboration and show their support.
Fuschia White is commendable for offering quality at affordable prices and always delivering their goods in the finest of packaging. It was important for the new collection to gel with the same principles and as Farah wanted the clothes to appeal to the mass market, the prices range from £20-£60.

When asked about the new launch, Farah stated: “I really wanted each item to stand strong alone, with all being key pieces to every females wardrobe. Pieces that they can mix with their own style”. I think there will be a little something to suit every taste and style in this new range and the price makes it accessible to everyone!

The new thriving boutique, Fuschia White and multi-talented beauty queen Farah Sattaur will definitely leave guests in awe at the North West Fashion Festival. I’m sure the fashion crowd are all anticipating a unique show, which will not only be an insight into the new collection but also to the creative and eclectic taste from the Fuschia White team.

Wedding Make-up

Yesterday I decided to take some inspiration from the MAC face charts for my Wedding evening look. I'm guilty of sticking with what I know looks good in regards to how I do my make-up and so felt like going a bit crazy and doing something different. I have quite small eyes and so am always quite reluctant to wear eye shadow or to over bear them with colour, but yesterday I decided to go with a bronzed eye shadow effect. For my eye make-up I used this YSL eye shadow kit, a SmashBox mascara and eye liner and a concealer to use above the eye shadow under the brow.

To begin with I primed my skin with the MAC face primer followed by the Smashbox primer for an added matte look. Using the 'real techniques' foundation brush I covered my whole face and neck with the studio finish MAC foundation. I then contoured the areas around my t-zone, forehead and chin with a highlighting concealer from Smashbox. To finish the contoured look, I bronzed underneath my cheekbones, around the hairline and underneath my chin.
For my lipstick I combined a matte Chanel in coral colour with a plum mac lipstick. I didn't use any gloss as I wanted a flat matte finish and so instead I added a dab of concealer to the middle of the bottom lip to make the lips look fuller.
To finish off I added some secret diva lashes to the corner of my eyes to make them stand out. Then I sprayed MAC fix+brume fixante which holds the makeup on for longer, it's kind of like a hair spray but for the face!

Summer Networking Event Route 66 Liverpool for Chic Networking

On Thursday the 12th of June the sun came beaming out to play ready for our Summer Networking Event at Route 66. The weather was on blissful form as we set up the fruity Pimms inside the luxury marquee and welcomed the arrival of our fabulous boutiques. It wasn’t long before the marquee was an array of beautiful summer clothes, chic cupcakes, custom designed bikinis and body shop beauty products. An exciting buzz was building amongst the ladies setting up their pop-up boutiques and as soon as our singer started performing the summery tunes, the event was ready for the arrival of our guests.
As the cars came swarming in, the guests parked up and tottered over to the marquee where they were welcomed with a fruity cocktail (or mocktail for the drivers). The amazing display of canapés was too tempting to resist and guests were able to indulge till their heart was content…or until they were ready to move onto the free cupcakes. Not only were they able to take full advantage of the free food but unlimited amounts of photos from the photo booth proved to be a massive hit. The party box was full of curly wigs, hats and other accessories to ensure that you could only look nothing other than a fool in the pictures. Looking back at the pictures I think it’s safe to say I won’t be styling my hair into a blue bob any time soon.

Half way into the event the drinks were flowing and our next singer set up to perform some songs from the likes of Amy Winehouse and Norah Jones. The beautiful acoustic music was the perfect backdrop for the event especially when added with the gorgeous sunset that was appearing behind the marquee.

While some guests networked and exchanged business cards, others nattered and caught up with friends, all in all, the event was a positive social occasion. Meeting new people and creating business awareness is a chic networking priority and we were happy to see this continue throughout the night. That was until the sky was dark enough to showcase our chick flick for the night: Pretty Woman! Guests returned to their cars and tuned their radios in so they could enjoy this all-time classic of a film. After an evening of fab company and happy guests, we can definitely say that the chic team set up a unique environment for people to network and to experience something a little out the ordinary.

Fuschia White Fashion

If style is a way to say who you are without having to speak then girls who wear Fuschia White are an embodiment of classic sophistication with a playful and contemporary edge. The designs have an eye for complimenting the female form whilst still exuding a modern sensibility. It seems that the brand is consistently elevating their fashion point of view with new collections reflecting the Fuschia White brand as well as the current trends. Maintaining a youthful appeal is apparent through the feminine and wearable styles which are perfect for all occasions, varying from nights out with the girls to being perfect for summer BBQs.

The collections focus on a high-end style with refined tailoring and diverse fabrics, however the pricing is high-street affordable! Fuschia White was established by North-West based sisters Lubaina and Lamya Karimjee who wanted to create a website that concentrated more on quality than quantity and helped women to avoid the nightmare of turning up to an event wearing the same outfit as someone else. The pair said "we've infused our own styles into one joint venture, giving young independent women a place where they can go to find high-quality garments without breaking the bank".

Fuschia White prides iteslef in giving their customer exactly what they want and aims to deliver great customer service with free delivery on all UK orders as well as being on top of the latest trends and having new arrivals updated onto the site every two weeks. It is rare to find such excellent value combined with a high standard of customer service and therefore I feel Fuschia White have created a fantastic opportunity for women to get more for their money when buying online.

Selfridges Beauty Hall Launch Event

Selfridges has become part of a new campaign in a bid to redefine the current view on what beauty really is. The idea is to illustrate that beauty comes in many different forms through the hosting of different events such as debates, performances, general happenings and plenty of shopping! I was able to attend the Birmingham Selfridges launch for the opening of its new beauty hall which is all part of the Beauty Project campaign.
On entry to the event we were given a wrist band in which to our surprise was in fact a little charm bracelet with a red lip charm. We were half expecting one of those plastic bands you would receive on an all-inclusive holiday and so to receive this…was a nice little touch.

We were able to walk around the beauty counters trying samples and treating ourselves to products with a ten pound discount off which was the price of the ticket. I think that will definitely be the only time I can walk into MAC and buy a new lipstick for only £5!
My friends had makeovers done by Charlotte Tilbury in which they had the most unbelievable eye make-up done. They each bought into one of the Charlotte Tilbury ‘looks’ which includes: The Rock Chick, The Dolce Vita, The Ingenue, The Golden, The Uptown Girl, The Sophisticate, The Bombshell, The Vintage Vamp, The Glamour Muse and The Rebel.

After glamming ourselves up we were able to indulge in the juicy alcoholic drinks that were being sent around by some rather beautiful men. Amongst these treats were meringues and frozen yogurts which were artistically presented. As well, those who had made purchases at the event also received a goody bag…mine had a GHD curl spray in which has done my frizzy hair wonders.

All in all, the event was a great way to launch the new beauty hall, bringing women and men together to indulge in the cosmetic luxuries and to enjoy the extra treats that were on offer. I personally gained a lot from the experience, not only leaving with some new Mac Make-up but it was also a fab social occasion to spend with friends.

Chic Networking Hilton Event: Liverpool

On March 9th 2014, I was lucky enough to work at the fabulous Chic Networking Hilton Event hosted in my beloved University City that is Liverpool. I know I said ‘worked’ but as soon as I met the fantastic team and the event organiser, I immediately knew the atmosphere was not going to be stressful or intimidating at all.

Walking into the Hilton as an event student about to embark on another ‘volunteer experience’, I must admit I felt slightly out of my depth. As much as I love fashion and attending events, I wasn’t sure how I would cope behind the scenes but to my surprise, Lauren (the host) was immediately welcoming and ensured I had a role throughout the night. From previous volunteering experience, my expectations for the day were not filled with excitement and I had anticipated spending the evening standing around watching others do the jobs I wanted to do but as a volunteer you usually aren’t trusted. However, mistaken I was, Lauren put me front of house with canapés where I was able to greet the guests and add to the positive energy in the room.

The event had an interesting spin on a generic fashion show, as it was also a networking event: providing local businesses a chance to promote and sell their products/services. The main focus was based around promoting women in business, generating brand awareness and creating an environment for networking to take place. The stalls were an array of jewellery, fashion, tan, lifestyle, health, catering and drinks based businesses from the North West which alone would have been an amazing event never mind with the addition of an astounding fashion show. The girls modelling in the show looked stunning representing the designers from the Liverpool area including brands: Lola Loves, Samantha chong, Mark Melia, The Dressing Room, Mode Mwah, KU, Spendlove & PattyFashion. Seen below:

The event came to an end following the last fashion show but the night didn’t end there as the after party was being hosted by the Mosquito Club (@Mosquitoclub) for a Sunday Club session (TheSundayClub1). I unfortunately wasn’t able to attend the after party but I imagine the high spirits from the event carried on till the early hours of the morning without doubt.
It may seem that this is a late blog post seeing as the event was held in March, but I felt it was a great opportunity to create awareness for the upcoming Chic Networking events which I’m certain will continue to impress and be just as successful.
