Selfridges has become part of a new
campaign in a bid to redefine the current view on what beauty really is. The
idea is to illustrate that beauty comes in many different forms through the
hosting of different events such as debates, performances, general happenings
and plenty of shopping! I was able to attend the Birmingham Selfridges launch
for the opening of its new beauty hall which is all part of the Beauty Project
campaign.
On entry to the event we were given a
wrist band in which to our surprise was in fact a little charm bracelet with a
red lip charm. We were half expecting one of those plastic bands you would
receive on an all-inclusive holiday and so to receive this…was a nice little
touch.
We were able to walk around the beauty
counters trying samples and treating ourselves to products with a ten pound discount off
which was the price of the ticket. I think that will definitely be the only time I can
walk into MAC and buy a new lipstick for only £5!
My friends had makeovers done by
Charlotte Tilbury in which they had the most unbelievable eye make-up done. They
each bought into one of the Charlotte Tilbury ‘looks’ which includes: The Rock Chick, The Dolce Vita, The Ingenue, The Golden, The Uptown Girl, The Sophisticate, The Bombshell, The Vintage Vamp, The Glamour Muse and The Rebel.
After glamming ourselves up we were able
to indulge in the juicy alcoholic drinks that were being sent around by some
rather beautiful men. Amongst these treats were meringues and frozen yogurts
which were artistically presented. As well, those who had made purchases at the
event also received a goody bag…mine had a GHD curl spray in which has done my
frizzy hair wonders.
